Wiston Family Torah Tots Early Childhood Learning Center (“Torah Tots”) is a nationally accredited school through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (“NAEYC”). Torah Tots is a multi award winning school, with a Silver award from Solomon Schecter for “Overall Excellence in a Jewish Preschool”, and with a Gold award from United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Southeast Region for “Synagogue of Excellence Award in Early Childhood”. We are proud that Torah Tots is a Reggio Emilia inspired school.
Torah Tots is an arm of a conservative synagogue, which offers opportunities that differ from other schools in significant ways. Children are perceived as competent, resourceful, imaginative, inventive, curious, strong communicators who wish to interact with others. Torah Tots cherishes and supports the unique learning styles and capabilities of each child. Each child will be allowed to try, and to try again thus creating individuals capable of complex problem solving. Our staff is made up of degreed professionals who understand their position is to be that of a learner alongside each child. The teacher is a teacher-researcher, a resource and guide for each child as the child follows their own interest, returning again and again to add new insights. Our staff understands completely that the strongest tools that a child possesses are themselves.
Torah Tots unique trademark is the cohesive integration of a strong Judaic and secular curriculum in a developmentally appropriate environment. Children and their families will gain a sense of Jewish values, rituals and traditions. It is important that you understand that the children will be imbued with these concepts. These ideas will encourage individual growth while building strong self-esteem and future leaders.
Torah Tots is a precious part of Kehilla K’duah (a sacred community). This community is created by parents, staff, congregants, clergy and numerous volunteers coming together to create a nurturing, safe haven in which each child and their families can grow at their own pace. Through our Parent/Teacher Organization (“PTO”), our parents are encouraged to be as actively involved as they can. The success of each child’s educational career now and in the future depends on good, clear communication skills. Children must feel a bond between their home and school, thus, eliminating any fears which may inhibit a child from learning.
