January 2011

January is the month that we make resolutions. We promise to lose weight, eat healthy food, and get more active. We tend to focus on making changes to our bodies.

But what about our spiritual well-being? Do we make any promises to take care of that part of ourselves?

Sisterhood can help. Join us on Thursday, January 20, at 12:30 p.m. for an inspirational presentation explaining Sisterhood‘s involvement in the Torah Fund Campaign. Share the pride in knowing that through our efforts, we help to sustain Judaism and support the students of Conservative Jewish Seminaries world-wide. This campaign ensures our legacy to future generations of Conservative Jews by providing rabbis, cantors, educators, administrators and social workers for Day Schools and Synagogue Schools.

Next month, feel your spirits soar when you attend Sisterhood Shabbat. We begin this memorable event with a catered Shabbat dinner on Friday night, February 11. You will definitely be impressed, as members of Sisterhood conduct Friday night and Saturday services. We guarantee that you will have a greater spiritual connection inspired by these incredibly accomplished women.

We are privileged to have as our guest speaker, Genie Green Blaher, President, Florida Region of Women‘s League for Conservative Judaism. Another highlight of the weekend will be the presentation of the Woman of Achievement Award. We look forward to greeting you at our sponsored Oneg and Kiddush. Come meet, greet and feel complete! Watch for more details in future mailings.

Sisterhood‘s Board of Directors wish Cheri Deutch and the incoming Temple Torah Board, and Steve Hyman and the new Men‘s Club Board, the best of luck, and look forward to a productive year working together to help Temple Torah achieve its goals.
