Synagogue life is the lifeblood of Jewish life. Without a synagogue, Jewish life would fade away. With this belief, Temple Torah of West Boynton Beach, invites you to visit and became a member of the Temple Torah Family Congregation. We are a Conservative Egalitarian temple that welcomes all to its place of worship.

Temple Torah observes conservative traditions and our services are filled with song and words of wisdom that create an atmosphere of warmth and learning. We hold Friday evening, Shabbat morning services as well as morning and evening minyans...

Due to our successful education programs, we are building the Campus of Jewish Learning. It will hold the Wiston Family Torah Tots School which has won many awards, a growing and outstanding Religious school, a broad based award winning Adult Education program and a Holocaust Learning Center dedicated to research and remembrance. We provide a variety of programs for the children in our Pre-Kadima, Kadima and USY programs. Also, we have many volunteer opportunities so members can find further social, educational and leadership experiences to enrich your life, Our Men’s Club and Sisterhood are active and create both religious and social programs throughout the year.

All in all, Temple Torah is a place that has meaningful services, activities and social and educational options for all ages.

There is a new energy here at Temple Torah and we invite you to be part of it.

Monthly Message - January 2011

Just before January 1, most Americans are reflecting upon the year that is closing and making resolutions for the coming year. Jews around the world go through this process during the time leading up to Rosh HaShana and perhaps we get a "second chance" to reflect before the secular New Year.

With the focused leadership of Chuck Rosen and the dedication of the entire 2010 Executive Board and Board of Directors, Temple Torah has gone through many changes, which is creating a new path for us. Those choices were difficult and controversial, however I thank everyone for those difficult actions which now enables the new administration to reshape our Synagogue and keep Jewish Continuity strong. I, also, thank all of you for your confidence in the election of your new leadership. I promise that we will do our best to continue to move Temple Torah forward.

During this past Rosh HaShana, my family and I spent the holiday at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. On the second day of the holiday we attended services at the UCF Chabad, and the Rabbi shared with us a thought, "You must go through the "Oye" before you can experience and appreciate the "Ahh". Temple Torah has just experienced its "Oye". I look to you now to help create our "Ahh".

We are setting the stage. We have welcomed Cantor Zach Mondrow into our family, and we are currently looking for a new Rabbi. We have worked very hard to manage our budget and due to the very hard work of Stuart Boxerman, out-going Treasurer, we now have a balanced budget. We have the great possibility of having a Palm Beach County Hebrew Charter School, Ben Gamla, residing in our building starting August 2011. On December 15, 2010, the Palm Beach County School Board approved Ben Gamla‘s Charter request. It is now up to Palm Beach County to approve our facility for the school.

While the building blocks are starting to be set for our "Ahh," we are not there yet. One of the most important things we can do this year, together, is to increase membership. This is going to be one of the main focuses of the new administration. We are all members of the membership committee and we need everyone to participate.

Our congregants are very important to us and we want to create a second-home feeling for everyone from our Wiston Family Torah Tots preschool to our senior congregants. We want you to look towards Temple Torah for your Spiritual, Educational, and Social needs. As a congregation we must, also, create an atmosphere where those who are not members want to come and join the family. We must continue to maintain our budget. We have done a great job in managing our expenses but we must increase our revenues. Increasing membership is a vital component of this. The entire board and I welcome any thoughts or suggestions you may have to enable us to achieve this goal. Join the Membership committee to help.

My family and I have been members of this —Shul? for 17 years. It is and has been our second home, and our love for it runs deep in our hearts. We are committed to working hard to keep this Synagogue moving forward and create the love and warmth, for everyone to feel, each time they enter its doors. Help us create our "Ahh." Join a committee, help increase membership, get involved, bring your children, grandchildren, friends and family here.

May everyone's New Year become an "Ahh" filled with blessings, joy, love, and health.
